What Our Designers Do At 5RV Digital Each Day.

No website nor business for that matter is ever complete without a dab of design to truly bring it to life and reveal its full capabilities.

You may even say it is practically impossible.

OK. Maybe you agree with that. Maybe you don’t. But you can’t deny it’s definitely important.

Design finds its way into all aspects of a companies Digital journey, whether you are creating a clients brand completely from scratch, revitalising and refreshing a site, or even updating a businesses social media platforms with new graphics and visual content to keep their audience engaged.

What we are trying to say is, there is a lot more than may initially meet the eye.

Talking of which, have you ever wondered what a day in the life of someone working in design might actually look like?

Maybe you are looking to begin a career as a Designer yourself. Perhaps you’re interested in having work done for your business and trying to gain an idea of what we could do for you.

Well, we may just have that answer for you.

Introducing, Neil, one of our very dedicated and talented Designers working here at 5RV Digital.

Read on to find out how he goes about the role and what a typical day would look like in his position.

Morning

9.00am: Walking into the office at the start of the morning, still half asleep, you will find us clambering over to our desks, wearily logging in, and checking emails left in the inbox indicating tasks to look into and goals to work towards throughout the day.

This is usually equipped with a fresh cup of tea or coffee placed on my desk, and made by one of my fellow colleagues, as the morning isn’t usually my round. Perfect!

10:00am until 12:00pm: When emails have been sifted through and sorted, I begin on our client projects, going over where I left off from the day before, continuing forward with briefs set out from meetings.

This could be anything from designing new logo ideas, cleaning up front end designs for websites, and improving the overall user experience using well crafted design.

Afternoon

Lunch: As soon as the clock hits midday, or maybe even just slightly after, you’ll find me sitting at my desk with a homemade lunch, possibly checking industry related articles via LinkedIn (You can follow us on LinkedIn here. Shameless plug) or out and about for a brisk walk in the local area.

1:00pm until 3:00pm: Jumping straight back into action, I get right into branding up any imagery or graphics to be used by our Social Media Manager, who will go onto schedule them with the right captioning, ready to be distributed amongst our social channels.

3:00pm until 5:00pm: At this time of the day I will most likely continue with any outstanding changes that need to made to initial designs made previously or get onto any new projects brought to me by my colleagues.

5:00pm until 5:30pm: With half an hour left of the day, it’s time to go over any final emails and log time for tasks done throughout the day, before logging off and getting ready to go home for the for a well deserved rest.
